ZHONG WEN ZE SHINES IN THE RAIN AT KIC, SECURING HIS SPOT FOR ITALY
Zhong Wen Ze delivered a masterclass performance in treacherous wet conditions at the Korea International Circuit (KIC) to claim victory in the 2026 OHVALE GP-7 CUP KOREA. Held alongside Round 4 of the AKRC, the one-make series saw riders battle on identical OHVALE GP-7 machinery. With this win, Zhong moves to the top of the championship standings and officially secures one of three coveted seats to represent the region at the upcoming OHVALE GP-7 CUP in Italy this September.
Mastering the Elements
After taking pole position on Saturday with a blistering 1:26.223 lap time, Zhong faced an entirely different challenge when Sunday brought heavy rainfall to KIC. Race 1 demanded exceptional control, adaptability, and tyre management. Over 10 demanding laps, Zhong maintained total composure to take the chequered flag.

A Pathway to the Global Stage
The GP-7 CUP KOREA highlights a crucial initiative to build a direct progression ladder from domestic competition to international racing. High-level officials were trackside to oversee the action and evaluate the platform’s potential, including FIM Asia Vice President Mohammed Rhiza, FIM Asia Secretary General Franck Vayssie, and OHVALE Global Business Operations Director Marika Barbiero, who personally presented trophies to the podium finishers.
Looking Ahead: 2026 GP-7 Asia Challenge
The momentum continues back in the Republic of Korea on 17–18 October with the inaugural 2026 GP-7 Asia Challenge.
25 applicants from 17 countries have submitted entries.
13 riders will be selected for the final starting grid.
Competitors will clash on identical OHVALE GP-7 machines, ensuring a level playing field where pure talent, racecraft, and strategy take center stage.
Through ongoing collaboration between FIM Asia, FOMS Korea, and OHVALE, young talents are gaining crucial international exposure and a sustainable pathway toward global motorsport success.
