FIM Asia Elevates Regional Talent at the 2026 Korea World Bike Festival and GP7 Asia Challenge

FIM Asia, operating as the continental governing body for the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), continues its mission to develop two-wheeled motorsport across the region. By setting high safety standards, regulating competition, and creating clear pathways for young talent, FIM Asia provides the foundation for rising riders to step up to global stages like Moto3 and WorldSBK.

A flagship fixture on this season’s calendar is the 2026 Korea World Bike Festival, held in partnership with the Federation of Motorcycle Sports Korea (FOMS) at the Korea International Circuit (KIC) from October 17–18, 2026. Anchoring the festival alongside national rounds like the All Korea Road Race Championship (AKRC) is the prestigious GP7 Asia Challenge Cup—a single-spec developmental championship powered by identical OHVALE GP-7 motorcycles.

Event Timetable & Key Sessions

• Friday (Setup & Free Practice): Administrative registration, rider license checks, and technical inspections. GP7 competitors participate in a random bike draw to receive their machinery before taking on three 20-minute practice sessions.
• Saturday (Qualifying & Saturday Races): Scrutineering continues alongside morning Warm-Up and Qualifying sessions. Official racing kicks off with the Legend Cup Race (10 Laps) and the premier SB1000/ST1000 Race (16 Laps).
• Sunday (Main Race Day): Following morning warm-ups, an Official Opening Ceremony, and a Pit Lane Grid Walk, the feature races take center stage:
  • SP300 / ST300: 10 Laps
  • GP7 Sprint Qualifying: 8 Laps
  • SS600 / ST600: 14 Laps
  • SB1000 / ST1000: 16 Laps
  • GP7 Main Race: 14 Laps
  • SP500 / Legend Cup: 10 Laps
  • Closing: Podium celebrations and spectator Lucky Draw events.

Points System	Sunday’s Sprint Qualifying (8 Laps) awards half-points, while the Main Race (14 Laps) awards full points. Combined points determine the round winner, with tie-breakers going to the higher Main Race finisher.
107% Qualification	Riders over 107% of the qualifying reference time are permitted to start both Sunday races, but cannot earn points in the Sprint session.
